It's the economy, stupid.

So, I guess this is what happens when you work for a dying medium. Or, worked, I should say. Today, I and the other reporter in the Moon office were axed. Company downsizing.

I can't say I'm surprised. I had heard rumors the company was losing money -- lots of it -- and 20 or so people were laid off about three months ago. The reality of it hasn't set in, and I don't know if anyone else with the company was let go today.
(Update: The total number of reporters axed today, so far, is three -- myself and two others. I'll update more as I know it.)

What I do know is this: The last time this happened, a lot of people were in the dark, inside and outside of the company. Well, not this time. If anyone knows of any more about this, let me know.
